IDSworks modular Grip for Leica digital CL

Designed for the Leica CL

The IDSworks modular CL grip was designed and created upon some loyal customer's request. Upon communicating with customer we decided to make them at small batches since it is a discontined model for quit a while. This model of the grip was designed based on our multifunctional base, ensuring compatibility not only with Peak Design Capture systems but also with our proprietary lens down bracket.

We think such compatibility is so useful and we are planning to include this design on at least one version on different camera model. The reason is it totally elliminate the need of a camera strap when you also use a sling camera bag. 

The innovative design of the bottom plate facilitates the attachment of the camera directly onto the strap of a sling bag, offering significant functional advantages.

With this setup, your camera becomes more accessible, enabling rapid retrieval without the need to open the camera bag.

The camera can be easily detached and reattached to the Peak Design Capture system, allowing your hands to remain free.

Instead of burdening your bag with both the camera and lens, the bag now only handles the weight of the lens, while the camera's weight is supported by the sling bag strap. This configuration alleviates stress on the connection points between your sling bag and body strap.

This design effectively balances the movement of the sling bag with the camera's weight positioned at the front, enhancing overall comfort during use.

Directly integrated with ARCA dove tail to connect ARCA based tripod directly.

Since the biggest lens in the CL series is the 35mm 1.4 with a barrel dia. actually pass the bottom rim of the camera. When we design this grip we are keeping the base as thin as possible yet not create problem when attaching the grip directly on tripod and Peak design Capture. (Picture above is 35mm 1.4 on Peak Design tripod)

Above picture have 35mm 1.4 on the camera and Peak Design Capture directly attached to the grip base. There is still a gap but we recommend that you tape the bottom barrel up to prevent contacting your lens during installation. All other lens in the series have enough space definitely.

Aside from the grip shape, the base of the grip only adds a minimum of 6mm to the total height. 

Further to that we have also designed the base to connect with PD capture clip so that it can directly attach to the capture clip. 

There is now a hidden anchor to attach PD strip lug as well. It also can sit flat on the table even if the anchor is on the grip.

It also works with our Lens Down Bracket for over the body carrying without blocking the battery release.

Tricks on using our optional Lens Down Bracket

Lens Down bracket works on all our product. Not only it allows you to carry your camera with "Lens Down" when you wear your camera across your body, it also allows you to turn your strap into a wrist strap.

There are two thread locations on the finger loop aluminum grip pad that allows two chose of loop location. (picture shown here is M11, grip pad also works for all our design except the Pillar grip design)
