How it all begins...
“I want a Leica grip that appears as if I have just simply glue a piece of well shaped piece of wood on to the camera...."
Leica cameras have always been the pinnacle in camera design and for the longest time I believe it is “sacrilegious” to add or alter anything from it.... (even just adding a half case will make the body feels thicker).
I am glad to see Leica tried their best to bring modern digital M cameras back to the original M3 form. However, as digital M bodies are unavoidably heavier due to the electronics, as well as the craving for those yummy, creamy but heavy Noctilux lens, I started to consider options for a firmer grip.
After failing in search of one that will put the minimum affect on the original look of an M camera... I was inspired to make one for myself instead.
I don’t have any pretty words on the so call “design concept”... if I have to put it down in simple words I would say I want something more than a grip by providing more functions, provides confidient grip, provides efficiency on the field, protects my camera and most importantly it has to look great! ... I want it to appear as if I have just simply glue a piece of well shaped piece of wood on to the camera....
