IDSworks modular Grip / Base plate for Fuji GFX100RF

The IDSworks modular Grip for GFX100RF is an iteration of our functional base design. It is the first time we decided to produce both an option with grip and without grip at the same time. Unlike the previous product we make for X100VI, we think 100RF itself can work without a grip at all as the camera is much taller than X100VI and we figured that some may just want the function which the base provided without the grip part.

Our functional base is designed to be thin and intergration with ARCA and Peak Design compatibility.

We think such compatability is so useful and we are planning to include this design on at least one version on different camera model. The reason is it totally elliminate the need of a camera strap when you also use a sling camera bag. 

The innovative design of the bottom plate facilitates the attachment of the camera directly onto the strap of a sling bag, offering significant functional advantages.

With this setup, your camera becomes more accessible, enabling rapid retrieval without the need to open the camera bag.

The camera can be easily detached and reattached to the Peak Design Capture system, allowing your hands to remain free.

Instead of burdening your bag with both the camera and lens, the bag now only handles the weight of the lens, while the camera's weight is supported by the sling bag strap. This configuration alleviates stress on the connection points between your sling bag and body strap.

This design effectively balances the movement of the sling bag with the camera's weight positioned at the front, enhancing overall comfort during use.

Designed to be visually balance

While we have designed product for Leica camera for some time we find the width and height ratio for Fuji 100RF is tricky to design. 

We could have design the product to have the same overall increase in height by milling a thin piece of metal and making the grip part longer. We choose not to do that because it will make the width and height ratio even worse. Instead we choose to mill from a thicker aluminum so that a full front panel can be protruded from a thin base to avoide adding more joint lines. This make the product looks lighter and more pleasing. This however increase our CNC time by a whole lot because we have to start from a thicker aluminum to begin with. We think it is worth it as it looks much better.

Directly integrated with ARCA dove tail to connect ARCA based tripod directly. It also works with our Lens Down bracket as well.

 There is a hidden anchor to attach PD strip lug as well. It also can sit flat on the table even if the anchor is on the grip.

Aside from the grip shape, the base of the grip only adds a minimum of 6mm to the total height.

We have also introduce the new Finger Loop Aluminum grip options that are compatible with the Leica finger Loop.

There are two thread locations on the finger loop aluminum grip pad that allows two chose of loop location. Note that we do not sell those finger loop as those are Leica's design and you can buy the loops from Leica store.
